Irish Bioenergy Map Biomass Biogas And Biofuels
La Tene Maps in association with the Irish Bioenergy Energy Association (IrBEA)(www.irbea.org) are happy to announce the launch of the new Irish Bioenergy Map. The map was released at the annual IrBEA Conference which was held at Castleknock Hotel and Country Club in Castleknock, Co.Dublin on Wednesday 4th February 2015.

The "Irish Bioenergy - Biomass, Biogas and Biofuels" map was first published in 2010 and is this is the 3rd edition. It shows sites producing power and heat from Dedicated Biomass, Co Firing, Anaerobic Digestion, Energy from Waste, Landfill and Sewage Gas. Sites producing Biodiesel, and Biogas are shown. In addition Solid Biomass Fuel Production/Distribution sites and Biomass Producer Groups are also included. Sites are shown by symbol together with project name, operator and generating/production capacity.

Speaking at the release of the new map John Coleman, chief executive of La Tene Maps said "It is a pleasure to be associated with IrBea to produce this map, It is good to see an association promoting an area of renewable energy where there is such vast potential in the country. Whilst there has not been massive growth in the industry over the past two years in the Republic of Ireland it is still growing. This is in marked contrast with Northern Ireland where there has been massive growth in all the sectors due to incentives and feed in tariffs. The liquid biofeuls sector is disappointing. There is now only one main producer on the island and the bulk of our requirements to fulfill EU Directives are imported ".

Copies of the map are available free to the IrBea membership from the Irish Bioenergy Energy Association. alternatively copies of the map may be purchased from La Tene Maps or picked up free at renewable energy conferences and exhibitions that the company attends.
